Dear friends,
We would like to cordially invite you to attend our upcoming seminar on:
The transition towards a circular economy: the case for plastics waste.
Friday 10th February 2017, 10:00am-12.30pm
Euralia Office (19-21, rue du Luxembourg, Brussels)
Less than 25% of collected plastic waste is recycled and about 50% goes to landfill. Large quantities of plastics also end up in the oceans. Following its Action plan for the Circular Economy ‘Closing the loop’ (2015), the European Commission is to adopt a strategy on plastics by 2017. The objective of the seminar is to investigate together with stakeholders the main challenges this Strategy should tackle.
Forecasted speakers are:
- Gary CRAWFORD, VP for International Affairs, Veolia
- Philippe DIERCXSENS, Environment Manager, Danone Waters Division
- Carlos de Los LLANOS, Recycling department Director, Eco-Emballages
- Hugo-Maria SCHALLY, Head of Unit B1. Sustainable Production, Products & Consumption, DG ENV, European Commission.
Debates will be held in English.
